Italy : 1929 Lateran Treaty Commemorative Medallion.

Partially enamelled bronze medallion, 29mm dia commemorating the Lateran Treaty. The Lateran Treaty was recognized in the Constitution of Italy as regulating the relationship between the fascist state with Mussolini & King Emmanuel III and the Catholic Church under Pope Pius XI.
One side shows the head of the Pope with the legend 'Pius XI Pont. Max' with an enamel border in the Vatican colours. The other side shows the heads of Mussolini and King Emmanuel.III with enamel Italian colours above and below plus the legend 'Conciliazione 1929 A.VII'.
