Silver-wire plaited lanyard with aluminium badge showing crossed rifles within an oakleaf wreath.
Introduced in 1957 and awarded only to non-commissioned ranks for small-arms marksmanship, the first awards were made in 1958 to 305 soldiers. Awards ceased in 1990 with the demise of the DDR.

Complete and in overall very good condition. Good shape to the black leather shell with all stitching firm, brass fittings, chin-strap and Prussian line infantry helmet plate. The original leather lining is complete and undamaged with a draw-string in place. The two side cockades are replacements and there are some crazing marks to the leather outer shell.
