Royal Artillery Air Observation Post (AOP) officers flew over the front-lines spotting artillery targets and directing fire.
These wings were introduced officially around 1948 for qualified AOP pilots before duties eventually transitioned into the current Army Air Corps.

The Yorkshire Volunteers Pair of Staybrite Collar-badges.
Pair of silver anodised aluminium collar-badges with Queen's crown. The central York rose is separately rivetted in place and each badge has a single lug & split-pin fixing on the reverse.
The Yorkshire Volunteers was an infantry regiment of the British Territorial Army. The regiment was raised on 1 April 1967 and disbanded on 25 April 1993.

Original 1918 Honourable Discharge Certificate to 22/741 Company Sergeant Major Joseph Boxx, Northumberland Fusiliers.
