Single-sided postcard-size card commemorating Luftwaffe Hauptmann Franz Schauer who was killed in the West on 22 November 1944 after five years of operations. He was a holder of the EK1 and, according to the Luftwaffe Rank Lists had been promoted to Hauptmann on 1st Feb 1943.

Austria : Imperial WW1-era Gold Cross of Merit with Crown on Military Ribbon.

Red enamelled gilded cross with hinged crown above. Sadly the obverse central enamelled medallion which would have borne the Emperor Franz Josef's FJ initials is missing. The reverse medalion is present, white enamel with the original date of institution '1849'. The crown also includes enamel. The suspension ring is stamped with the makers name 'Wilh. Kunz.
