Khaki-fawn cloth M23 field-cap heavily decorated with silver-fawn brocade & braid with a silver metal and red cloth national cockade on the front. The inside has a brown leather sweatband and is lined with beige silk which has frayed slightly in the forehead area and there is some sweat-staining to the lining. Machine-woven grey maple leaf with black '5 AC' on an olive-green square with black merrowed edge, 5cms x 5cms. Removed from uniform.
Originally formed in July 1913 as part of The Royal Flying Corps, No 5 Squadron served in a wide variety of roles until finally being disbanded in 2021 when it was operating from RAF Waddington.  read more

Short-pattern (20cm long blade) Luftwaffe dress bayonet with black-painted scabbard and brown leather dress / walking-out frog. Blade is the carbine- type with narrow fuller. The blade has age staining but has no manufacturer's mark. The chequered black grips are in excellent condition and the red felt insert is still present in the bayoner-slot.
