France : Model 1842 Sabre-bayonet Complete with Scabbard.
This brass-hilted hefty bayonet was the predecessor of the more common Model 1866 'Chassepot' bayonet. Grooved cast brass grip with working spring clip. Overall length of the bayonet in its steel scabbard is 71cms. The scabbard has no dents or dings and the bayonet blade is clean with only minor age staining.
