Yellow armband with buckle fastening and clearly stamped on the reverse with the WD arrow, date 1954 and manufacturer's name Lewis Falk Ltd.
The accompanying breast badge is the standard King's crown Civil Defence Corps badge with the "North Riding" title attached beneath.

Half red, half blue with a gold wire hand-embroidered Star of India in the centre. The reverse has four press-studs to facilitate easy removal of the badge when washing the tropical uniforms which regularly became sweaty and dusty. The badge has been worn but is in very good condition.  read more
