Memorial card commemorating 18 year-old Gebirgsjäger Benedikt Häfele who fell on 20th July 1943 in Krassny-Lutsch in the Donetz region of Ukraine.on the eastern Front. This would have been during the german withdrawal following the Battle of Kursk. He was born in Gottenau in 1924. The reverse shows a stock standard representation of his grave  read more

Nice photo of this NCO candidate wearing his service-tunic with first-pattern breast-eagle and shooting-cord. He wears no ribbons or decorations and it can be assumed that the photo is pre-war. The reverse is plain apart from the mark of where the photo was once stuck in an album.

This card shows a German field-gun on display in the Place de la Station in Ypres.
