BRD : German Bundeswehr 'Esbit' Field-cooking Stove.

Known in the British forces as a hexi-burner, this lightweight folding metal stove is designed to burn hexamine blocks to heat water or a meal in a mess-tin. This example has been used. The 'Esbit' was introduced pre-war and was an essential piece of Wehrmacht kit which continued in use with the post-war Bundeswehr.
