Standard No 4 Mk II spike bayonet with straight tubular black composite dome-ended scabbard and green webbing frog. Nice intact finish overall with a clean spike. The socket is over-stamped with several four-digit serial numbers. Full length tally which for some reason has been cut and rejoined or had a damaged length replaced.
HMS Excellent was a Royal Navy shore establishment and naval gunnery training base on Whale Island in Portsmouth, Hampshire in 1869.. It was decommissioned in 1985 and became part of HMS Nelson. The tally has been used.  read more
