Durham Light Infantry Beret with Queen's crown Badge.

Undated rifle-green beret with Queen's crown DLI badge with slider fixing. There is a celluloid sweat-shield inside with a 'Kangol Wear Limited' and size '57' label. Un-dated but most likely 1970s therefore it was probably worn by regimental association members or cadets.
There is some moth-tracking around the edge of the crown.  read more

Excellent short pattern dress sabre with full gilt lion-head hilt with ruby eyes and composite grip but no grip-wire. Overall length in scabbard is 86cms. The front langet has crossed lances, swords and wreath design whilst the reverse langet has an escutcheon. The hilt back-strap is also decorated. Standard late-issue red hardback labour book issued by the Deutsche Arbeitsfront (DAF) measuring 15cms x 11cms with 16 pages. Issued in May 1943 to Erika Metz from Frankfurt a. Main. The first page gives her details showing her to be a baker. There are two pages of employer's ink stamps covering 1943 to '45.. Excellent condition.
