WW1 British Army 1917 dated Machete with Scabbard.

1917-dated machete, 51cms long (53cms in scabbard) with a blade length of 37.5cms with wooden slab grips rivetted in place with five rivets. The clean blade bears the make's snake logo of Samuel Kitchin of Sheffield and the date 1917. The excellent condition wooden grip is stamped with the War Department broad arrow and 'F'.
The hefty brown leather scabbard is in excellent condition with all stitching and rivets strong, tight and secure. It is stamped with the manufacturer details 'Fairbanks Lavender & Son 1917' and on the back, it has the WD broad arrow and the number '13. Overall this is a very fine example of a scarce WW1 piece of equipment.
