WW2 Commemorative Medal marking the British Army's Entry into Italy, Complete in Presentation-case with Insignia, etc.

WW2 unofficial gilt medal (30mm dia) produced in Italy by various medalists to commemorate the entry into Italy by the British 8th Army on 10th July 1943 (Invasion of Sicily). A variation was also produced marking the US 5th Army's entry..
This version for the 8th Army is complete with ribbon in a black fitted presentation case with blue lining by the renowned Italian medalists Bertoni Sarl of Milan and contains two neatly fitted enamel miniature formation badges of the British 8th Army and 13th Corps.
The set is also accompanied by an original WW2 printed 13th Corps shoulder flash.
The ribbon on the medal is that of the Italian Fascists 'March on Rome' medal therefore marking both the start and end of the Fascist regime in Italy. Being an unofficial medal, examples exist with various other ribbons. Some variations include a boat in the Bay of Naples on the obverse and the British and US medals have suitably adapted legends on the reverse. Rare to get a complete set like this.
