Imperial Austro-Hungarian cap-badge of the k.u.k. Yachtgeschwader, the Imperial & Royal Yacht Squadron. This organisation was founded in 1891 under the auspices of Kaiser Franz-Josef 1 as an elite sailing club on the Danube.
Hand-embroidered in gold wire on black padded backing with coloured imperial crown and scroll bearing the initials K&K YG. In very good condition and shows only minor age wear. Rare.
