Third Reich : Wehrmacht / Heer (Army) Hauptfeldwebel's M-40 Service-tunic with Orange Arm-of-Service Colour.
Nice original M40 pattern tunic with stitch-in Hauptfeldwebel's orange piped epaulettes, silver-wire BEVo breast-eagle, six-button front complete with all original buttons and fitted belt-hooks. The pockets are all the M40 flat patch style with a flat strip pleat, The tunic has a dark green collar with silver NCO tress and orange backed Waffenrock pattern collar patches. I assume this enhancement was for dress / walking-out or recruiting purposes. The tunic is lined with rayon/silk with a field-dressing pocket and has the size / issue stamps inside the front flap. The tunic has a slot behind the left skirt pocket flap for a dagger-hanger.
The tunic has its original four medal ribbon-bar attached through loops but no loops for other awards.
The tunic has certainly seen service but has no holes or damage other than some minor wear to the lining. It has been in my personal collection since December 1976.
