Third Reich : Wehrmacht / Heer (Army) Officer's Dress-sabre by Robert Klaas of Solingen.

This dove-head Army officer's pattern sabre is complete with scabbard and sword knot. The sabre is 100cms long in its scabbard and has a blade length of 85cms. The blade retains its original bright polished finish with no marks or stains and is free of any nicks. It retains its original leather washer. The ricasso bears the makers mark of Robert Klaas, Solingen
The gilded brass hilt has engraved designs with an eagle & swastika on the obverse langet and a plain reverse langet. There is a little wear to the gilding. The black undamaged celluloid grip has all its original grip wire intact. The excellent black painted scabbard may have been resprayed as it retains 100% finish with only one very minor negligible ding. The sword has its original leather strapped knot in near mint condition. Overall a very nice example . This sword has been in my personal collection since October 1972 when I acquired it from a local militaria dealer.
