Silver wire-woven plaited lanyard with grey alloy plaque attached bearing a Wehrmacht eagle, shield and crossed swords.. The rear of the cord has a silver-grey rayon/silk backing introduced in 1937 to reduce abrasion to the uniform...This backing shows evidence of minor service wear.
Introduced in 1938 to replace the 1st pattern lanyard,, this cord was similarly awarded to army non-commissioned ranks to recognize marksmanship proficiency..
Exce3llent condition and been in my personal collection since 1973.
