Third Reich : Wehrmacht / Heer (Army) Officers "Wrangel" Pattern No 1693 by Eickhorn Dress Sabre with Scabbard & Knot.

The "Wrangel" dove-head pattern sabre is one of the Fieldmarshall series of dress swords by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The sabre is 98cms long in its scabbard and has a blade length of 83cms. The blade retains its original bright polished finish with no marks or stains and is free of any nicks. The ricasso bears the makers mark behind the langet. The brass hilt has chiselled designs with a black undamaged celluloid grip with all original grip wire intact.
The black painted scabbard retains 99%+ original finish with one or two very minor dings. The sword has its original leather strapped knot with only minimal wear to the silver wiring where the strap flexes.
Overall a very nice example .
This sword has been in my personal collection since October 1972 when I acquired it from a local militaria dealer.
