Imperial : German Prussian Infantry Officers M1889 Dress-sword with Scabbard.

Straight clean plain double-fullered blade,70cms long with no makers mark. Overall length in scabbard 96cms. The black grip has all grip-wiring neat and intact and the grip front has a gilt Kaiser Wilhelm II monogram in place. The gilt hilt fittings include a leather finger-loop and a folding clamshell guard which bears a Prussian eagle emblem with the Kaiser;s monogram on its breast. The gilt is worn in parts.
The black painted scabbard has all its finish present with only minor scuff marks. There are no dings, dents or damage.
I acquired this from a militaria dealer for my own collection in March 1978
