Third Reich : Wehrmacht / Heer (Army) Cavalry Leutnant's M36 Field Tunic and Breeches.
Complete original field-grey OR-pattern M36 four-pocket field tunic as worn in the field by an officer. Dark-green collar with double hook & eye closure, all original field-grey buttons to the front, pockets and epaulettes. Six button front closure with Iron Cross 2nd Class ribbon in the buttonhole. A black Wound Badge is pinned on the left breast pocket. The tunic has its original officer quality insignia consisting of a bullion hand-embroidered breast eagle-emblem, yellow-piped subdued bullion collar-patches and gold-yellow-based Leutnant's epaulettes. The tunic is partially lined and has buttoned cuffs. The tunic has certainly seen service but is in very good condition with no holes, moth or damage.
The matching cavalry field-grey breeches have all original buttons present. The calves have button closures. These cavalry breeches would have originally had a suede reinforced patch to the backside and inner thigh. This has been period removed though it is possible to see the outline of where it was. Again the breeches have seen service compatible with the tunic but have no holes, moth or damage.
A very nice original field service uniform.
