WW2 Lee-Enfield Third Pattern No.4 Mark II* Spike Bayonet with Scabbard.

No.4 Mk II* third pattern spike bayonet in excellent condition with all blue / black finish present, including on the separately attached spike. For this pattern, the socket and blade were produced as separate forgings and Baird & Co .pinned the spike to the socket rather than weld it. The bayonet socket bears the correct oval stamp of Baird Engineering Company of Belfast, N.Ireland (No4 Mark II BEC N96).
The tapered Mk I steel scabbard retains all its original finish with no damage at all. The scabbard mouth is stamped with the War Dept. broad arrow and 'N64' indicating manufacture by Sheffield Steel Products..
