Imperial : German Hessen 1916 Christmas Greetings Gift to the Troops from Grand Duchess Eleonore and her Husband Duke Ernst Ludwig.

Silver-grey alloy medallion (35mm wide) sent to the Hessian troops as a gesture of greetings and best wishes from Grand Duchess Eleonore of Hesse and her husband Duke Ernst Ludwig, Christmas 1916. The medallion has a loop for suspension.
One side bears "Eleonore, Ernst Ludwig 24.XII.1916"
The other side has "Treue Segenswünsche u. Gedenken".
Very good condition with some minor staining.
