Like most Royal Navy ships there were predecessor's with this name. During World War 2 Lindisfarne was an Isles Class minesweeping trawler. The latest ship with the name was the Island Class Patrol Vessel P300 built following the Icelandic Cod War. The ship was subsequently sold to the Bangladesh Navy and renamed "BNS Turag".
