WW2 Special Constable's Grouping including Medals, Documents, etc.
This group of items belonged to Staffordshire Special Constable Sergeant Greville Hawkins and includes his WW2 era Special Constabulary Long Service Medal, with its original box and additional long service clasp, dated 1949. Also included is Sgt Hawkins' 1939=45 Defence Medal, plus some ribbon bars and a period photograph of him in uniform. In addition there is his Special Constables Guide, and his WW2 era pocket note-book with a number of documents.. Sgt Hawkins obviously served in WW1 as his photograph shows him wearing the BWM and Victory Medal. The whereabouts of the WW1 medals however is not known. His pocket book has hand written entries relating to various incidents, including breeches of rules regarding lights showing during blackouts.. Overall the condition is generally very good with some service wear to the books and paperwork.
