BRD : German Bundeswehr 'Esbit' Field-cooking Stove.

Known in the British forces as a hexi-burner, this lightweight folding metal stove is designed to burn hexamine blocks to heat water or a meal in a mess-tin. This example has been used. The 'Esbit' was introduced pre-war and was an essential piece of Wehrmacht kit which continued in use with the post-war Bundeswehr.
In addition to the 'Esbit' stamps, the metal is also stamped with 'D.R.P. u. Ausl. Patente' and 'Made in W.Germany' (which is the only thing that gives it away as being post-war !)
