France ; WW1 Trench Fighting-knife / Dagger made from a 1886 Lebel Epee Bayonet Complete with Scabbard & Frog.

Trench Fighting-knife / dagger made from a Lebel epee bayonet having had the blade shortened and the muzzle-ring and quillon machined off. Overall length of the dagger is 30cms with a blade length of 18.3cms. The blade has been machined to a lethal point and is contained in its cut-down open-ended scabbard which retains all its original blueing. This is completed by a brown leather frog which bears an oval ink stamp on the reverse containing numbers. Overall the whole rare ensemble is is excellent condition.
