France : Cross of Military Valour (Croix de la Valeur Militaire).
First established in 1956 to reward gallantry in a similar way to the earlier Croix de Guerre. This is a current decoration and has been awarded for operations ranging from Algeria to Iraq and Syria. The bronze star on the ribbon indicates that the award was granted in recognition of a mention in dispatches at regimental level. There is some verdigris on the head of the republic on the obverse but generally excellent condition.
