China : Type 56 Carbine Folding Spike Bayonet

Type 56 Carbine folding bayonet which was permanently attached to the 7.62 mm. Type 56 Carbine (a copy of the Russian Simonov SKS–45 rifle).As the name suggests, it was Introduced in 1956, the T56 was continually modified by the Chinese until it was eventually removed from military service. The bayonet folds under the barrel and stows in a groove in the rifle’s forestock. It differs from the Type 56 Rifle Bayonet as it has a muzzle ring.
Overall length 28cms with machined chisel-type point to the satin-finished silver blade. Blued fittings including muzzle-ring, knurled grip and fixing screw for attachment to the rifle. This is a commercial export model as it is marked on the 'tang' with "Made in China". Unused condition. .
