Third Reich : Wehrmacht / Heer (Army) Artillery Officer's Service Cap.
Very nicely shaped army Artillerie-offizier's cap with field-grey woolen top piped in bright-red Waffenfarbe with dark-green red-piped cap-band. The cap has aluminium bullion-wire hand-embroidered insignia and bullion chinstrap held in place by two silver pebbled buttons. The Vulkanfiber visor is in excellent condition. Inside is lined with a grey linen with a complete nice brown leather sweatband. The celluloid sweat-shield is present and complete and bears the partly discernable makers details and logo. The cap's original owners name tag is still present - 'Gerhard Gross'. The cap has seen service but is in very good condition apart from having two moth-holes and some tracking on the crown. (Note: there was an artillery officer called Gross with Art Rgt.110 who as an Oberstleutnant moved to the General Staff......don't know if it was him).
