WW1 Central Association of the Volunteer Training Corps (VTC) Lapel-badge.
First World War period gilded-brass and enamel lapel-badge for members of the Central Association of The Volunteer Training Corps. Overall height 38mm. The centre depicts the war goddess Bellona rivetted onto a green enamel background surrounded by an oval wreath bearing 'Central Association' with 'VTC at the base. The reverse has a buttonhole fixing and maker's details 'Fattorini & Sons Bradford' plus 'Reg'd 644266', a design patented and registered in 1915. Very good condition,
(The Central Association of the Volunteer Training Corps was established on 19 November 1914, to help counter the threat of a German invasion, The organisation was officially recognised by the War Office. It was eventually suspended in 1918, and finally disbanded in January 1920.)
