National Fire Brigades Association Long Service Bronze Medal for 10 Years Service together with a 5 Year Clasp.

Bronze 38mm dia medal with a straight bar suspender as used on the earlier Fire Brigades Union Medal. The original ribbon is suspended from a pin-back clasp bearing "Ten Years" and there is an earlier "Five Years" slip-on clasp on the ribbon. The medal is un-named but numbered "6806" on the rim.
This medal was instituted in 1918 and replaced the earlier Fire Brigades Union Medal. It was also available in silver for fire-brigade officers with at least twenty years full-time service.
As this example has the dated pin-back clasp and straight suspension bar of the earlier Union medal, it may be a transitional piece. The pin is a replacement.
