Third Reich : Dark-green M43 Field-cap with Gilt Buttons.

This cap probably belongs to one of the Forestry organisations but I have never been able to positively identify it. Dark-green wool material with two grommets on each side. The ear-flaps button at the front with two RZM-stamped gilt buttons. There are no external signs of a badge but the inside shows where a trapezoidal badge was at one time stitched and even a metal eagle may have been worn. The inside is lined with green rayon-silk stamped with the size '56'. The grey rexine-like imitation leather sweatband shows some ageing but is intact and overall the cap is in very good condition with no mothing.
I have had this cap in my personal collection since 1961.
