Pattern 1888 Lee-Metford Mk I, Type 2 bayonet complete with scabbard and buff-leather Slade Wallace pattern frog.

There are no dents or damage to the item and the scabbard leather is in excellent condition. The steelwork shows some normal staining with age. On the pommel there is '765' and the fixing button works smoothly. On the ricasso is stamped a crown with '5/93' (indicating May 1893) and 'Sanderson, Sheffield'. The back of the ricasso has 'WD' over a crown and 'S 25' with the bend-test 'X'. The back-edge of the ricasso bears further marks. The frog is stamped as shown in the photographs. Overall a nice bayonet.
